The Wine-Cellar has been created in 2005 by idea of the sculpture Ivan Rusev in the foothills of an existing small elevation in the Sculptural Park. As with the other functional sculptural interventions, the existing natural setting has been used for the realization of the Cellar too. It is a small semi-underground wine cellar with dimensions 5 õ 5 õ 2,40 m with a horizontal opening to the sky which is an additional attraction for the visitors and an effective plastic decision for illuminating the sculptural works inside it.
For the realization of the Wine-Cellar classical sculptural methods, characteristic of the Sculptural Park have been employed, such as: impressive stone constructions, realized by the sculptors Tsvetoslav Hristov and Georgi Stanishev, combined with unique sculptural columns of Ivan Rusev.
The village of Ilindenci is famous for it`s wines, some of which are made from vines typical only of this region of Bulgaria, such as the Keratsuda vine and the Melnik wine. The creation of the Wine-Cellar boosts the fame of the local wines of Ilindenci and attracts even more people, including tourists with interest in wine tasting tours.
The project was realized with financial help by the program Phare of EC.
